Runcorn Hockey Club is the only hockey club serving the Runcorn and Widnes area.
At present we run 3 Men’s teams playing in the North West Hockey League and 2 Ladies teams in the Cheshire Women’s Hockey League. We also have a coaching programme for youngsters covering KS2 in Primary Schools through all Secondary age pupils to College students.
We have achieved the Club Halton accreditation and are working towards the England Hockey Board (EHB) ClubsFirst Award. This is the EHB’s accreditation scheme and is a national recognition of clubs being able to demonstrate that they are working towards minimum operating standards.
Junior Coaching is held on Sunday Mornings from 10 to 11am. Senior training on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm (Men’s intermediate: 6 to 7 pm, Men’s advanced & Ladies: 6.30 to 8 pm). All abilities from complete beginner to very experienced are welcome. We are always looking for anyone, young or old, who is interested in trying hockey. Also, anyone moving into the Runcorn or Widnes area who is interested in playing or would like to get involved in hockey in any capacity (player, coach, umpire etc) is warmly invited to come along and meet us whether they have previous experience or not.
If any budding goalkeepers have been inspired by the heroics of Team GB’s Maddie Finch, please come along and have a go as we are always on the lookout for keepers.
